Born in Carcavelos, Portugal in 1974, where she still lives and has her studio.
From a very early age, Vanessa began to show a talent for artistic creation, certainly influenced by her father, Rui de Azevedo, now deceased.
A naturalistic watercolorist, Vanessa has also worked in the area of illustration for children’s books. She mainly paints cities and people from other times so as to preserve them from oblivion. Vanessa also paints in acrylic mainly the abstract and figurative. Technically, Vanessa presents great refinement in the treatment of shapes, volumes, shading, tonalities and transparency. She also teaches watercolour painting with great success.
Her art has been exhibited in several cities around the world such as Paris, New York, São Paulo, Rome, Vigo (Spain), London, among others. Currently, she paints in the company of her animals, her cat and dog Rusty.
Her design is structured, balanced, harmonious and enriched by a varied palette.
Vanessa D’Azevedo is slowly but surely becoming a household name in the current Portuguese Contemporary Watercolor world.
